Where did I start?#

10 years ago, an opportunity was put in front of me to move from Melbourne and go live in Brisbane to do a carpentry apprenticeship with my uncle. I never wanted to be a carpenter, but I saw this as an opportunity to see if it was for me and of course I was looking at the bigger picture of one day owning a business in that space.

I hated it and a month in I started to think about what I truely wanted to do…my mind kept coming back to the idea of building “apps and websites” because a year or two before me and my best mate would dream up these cool app ideas which then seemed so far out of reach.

So I started researching what I could do, I knew my oldert cousin was in Austin, Texas working in tech which got me thinking, why don’t I figure out how to do this? I always used to go over to his place, see the computer hardware and books everywhere, I thought it was pretty cool!

Not long after these previous thoughts, I started watching Silicon Valley and believe it or not this was my AH HA moment. It invigorated this desire to want to follow my dreams of building those apps I had dreamt up back in the day with the ultimate goal to work for startups and eventually have my own!

…And then the journey began.

Surfing#

Surfing! Catch me in the surf when it’s pumping. This aligns well with my pursuit of continous improvement in tech, it’s addictive. There’s never a time where you can’t improve and have fun.
